Hello everyone and welcome to Keep Choosing Life: A non-profit focused around inspiring and empowering others to continue life when they want to end it. It is in the start up process right now and it has been a very intense journey of LEARNING. Now let me explain.
I knew I wanted to have a non-profit for this issue since I was diagnosed with depression as a teenager. Even as a teen, I knew that I was not the only one who felt this sense of darkness and found comfort in it. I knew that I wanted to help others even if I was at a point at my life where I could not help myself. Every life has value and every life is worth fighting for.
Through this process of designing a logo, obtaining the correct license and documentation, figuring out costs, I have learned how passion can truly drive something. If you are not passionate, then the effort is not 100%. I have worked endlessly to try to better my website, my social media, to promote KCL, etc. and I loved every minute of it. And I think that is the biggest lesson I can take away from this.
It is to fall in love with the process. It is not easy and there may be an endless laundry list of things to take care of but all of those things help to get you where you want to go. The process can be stressful and full of phone calls, loss of sleep, computers dying in the middle of a project, but all comes together to create something so beautiful. So fall in love with it and most of all enjoy it. I fueled my passion for this non-profit with my struggles and my love for people. I fueled it with constant research and questions to people. I will continue to fuel this organization with everything I have because that one teenager who is wishing they do not wake up the next day needs it.
Once again, welcome to Keep Choosing Life. Your support in any way, shape, or form is appreciated. The goal is to help as many troubled teenagers receive the help they need in order to keep choosing life.
